First, I wanted to say, I hope you're all as excited for this cleanse as we are. Already got going this morning. We had a steamed kale and garlic egg breakfast, with gluten-free toast and avocado, and a side of sliced banana with cinnamon.
Second, I was asked a few questions pertaining to the diet that I thought would benefit you all.
- Organic brown rice pasta. Can I have this during the first week or should I hold off till the second? If you're going to be strict and stick exactly to the diet outlined for week one, then no, don't eat any rice. However, if you're going to modify it, then yes, brown rice is a great grain to eat throughout.
- Yogurt. Is there any yogurt I can have (like in smoothies)? Unless someone out there knows differently--please post a comment to the group if you do--I don't believe there are any yogurts that are allowed on the cleanse. They are all either cow's milk, goat's milk, or soy milk. Possibly, a hemp milk yogurt exists. If it does, that would be OK on the cleanse.
- Cereals? Granola? The first week? Again, not if you're sticking to the strictest interpretation of the cleanse. But if you're modifying it, then any gluten-free granola or cereal is allowed. Make sure you check the label.
- Should I refrain from eggs the first week or do you think it's OK to keep eating them (organic, free range, etc)? As long as they're organic, free-range, it's OK to have eggs in the first week.
Teresita

Thanks Teresita! Well it's day two, and I have to admit, this whole diet re-arranging thing is tough! I've never done anything like this before, and I think my body is a little bit freaked out....feeling pretty out of it today. Let me know if that isn't normal, but I feel like it probably is considering the many different things my body is used to having and isn't getting as well as all the things it's getting that it isn't used to having! Hope everyone else is having fun!
